Hello Insight Intelligence subscribers! We’ve got a big month planned for you for October. The first order of business is that Lena is back from holidays, and will be holding the pen on a few articles next month. I know you’ll all be happy about that — her articles are often very popular with you lot. Starting next month, you’ll also likely see some new faces around here. We’ve hired two new analysts, and I intend to get them busy writing for you as well. We’re going to start them off with a few “primers”, so if you have any thing you want to learn about, let us know in the comments below. Our intention is for the primers to be easy reference material for you, journalists, and anyone delving into the international security and finance space. Plot disruptions
We also wrote about a plot that was disrupted last year in the US and Canada, and the new terrorism financing charges one of the plot members is facing in Canada.
Analysis
We also put pen to paper with a bit of analysis on whether or not terrorists are using cryptocurrency to store funds (not just move them). We articulate some indicators that could help identify this behaviour. I also wrote an opinion piece for the Globe and Mail on why Canada should designate Wagner as a terrorist entity. It’s a controversial one, so enjoy!
