Happy Monday, everyone! It’s really dreary here in Ottawa today, and we suffered through a rough weekend with several inches of snow followed by freezing rain. But security issues never stop, so we’re back at it.
🚨🗞The first piece of business I need to flag is that today is the LAST DAY of our anniversary sale. Yes, we’ve been in business for 7 years! You can still get 20% off every one of our courses over at the Insight Academy. This includes terrorist financing analysis, financial intelligence fundamentals & sources, and more. The code is ITI20, and it’s only good until midnight.
Last week, I was pleased to see my article on IS Finance linked to in this RFERL article: “Global connectivity remains critical, with IS increasingly using cryptocurrency to transfer reserves and donations. The group’s financial sustainability on maintaining safe havens, evading financial controls, and sustaining global networks.”
And finally, we released a new Secure Line episode! My co-host Stephanie Carvin was recently in Taipei, and she caught up with some Halifax Forum attendees to get their thoughts on security issues in the region.
One last programming note: the annual CASIS symposium will be held on November 7th, so save the date! We’ll announce the speakers and share the agenda soon, so stay tuned for that. And if you haven’t done so already, be sure to subscribe to the CASIS newsletter. If you’re a student, you’ll want to check it out because we’re running an essay contest right now, with cash prizes!
