Hello Insight Monitor subscribers! Today we have part 6 in our series mapping Canada’s white power ecosystem. We’re heading over to Quebec to look at some white power groups operating in that province, starting with Nouvelle Alliance (New Alliance). This group is similar to other white power groups in Canada in its low level of organization and small-scale activities. However, as with the other groups and as part of the broader ecosystem, Nouvelle Alliance plays an important role in promoting hate and extremism in Canada.

Nouvelle Alliance

Nouvelle Alliance (New Alliance) is a Quebec sovereigntist group. While the group officially promotes more mainstream anti-immigration messaging instead of overt white power politics, members are known to promote white nationalism.1 The group was formed by leaders of the since-defunct Front Canadien-Français (French Canadian Front), an antisemitic Catholic Nationalist group. Nouvelle Alliance appears to be composed of mostly young men, with its leader estimating the average age of its members as 24.
