Canadian Nationalist Party

The Canadian Nationalist Party (CNP) is a neo-Nazi political party. The party was deregistered as a federal party in 2022 due to a lack of active members and has since been renamed the Canadian Nationalist Patriots. The CNP ran for a Parliamentary seat in 2021 and three seats in 2019. Its founder, Travis Patron, was found guilty of hate speech for campaign messaging that called Jews a “parasitic tribe.” In the month following Patron’s poor performance in the 2019 federal election, he assaulted two women and was eventually sentenced to eighteen months in prison. In 2022 he was arrested again, this time for criminal harassment, impersonating a police officer, and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.

Members of the party have been involved in a series of incidents, including a 2019 attack on Pride in Hamilton, and assaults in Toronto and Regina in 2019 and 2022.
