Hello Insight Monitor subscribers! Today we’re continuing with our second-to-last newsletter in our series covering Canada’s white power ecosystem. We’re looking at Siege culture today — some of you will be familiar with the various groups (many of which are now defunct) within this broader movement such as Atomwaffen division. However, Siege culture continues to influence white power movements and groups in Canada.

The series:

Mapping Canada's White Power Ecosystem

The Diagolon Network

Canada's White Power Active Clubs

Hammerskins in Canada

White Lives Matter in Canada

The Folkish Resistance Movement in Canada

Nouvelle Alliance

Identitarian Groups in Canada

The Canadian Nationalist Party

Siege Culture

“Siege Culture” (or “Siegekulture”) is sometimes used to describe a militant neo-Nazi movement that emerged from the Iron March internet forum. Siege Culture adheres to the strategic frameworks in SIEGE!, a periodical magazine-turned-terrorism-handbook by American neo-Nazi (and listed terrorist entity in Canada) James Mason. Prominent Siege Culture groups that operated in Canada include US-based The Base, US-based Atomwaffen Division, and the Canadian Atomwaffen Division offshoot Northern Order; these groups are all effectively defunct. However, former members of the Atomwaffen Division continue to be found in active Canadian white power movements, groups, and affiliations.
